Austin: Heather, Marc, Aidan, and soon to be baby brother

We spent a wonderful week in Austin visiting lots of friends and hanging out and just enjoying ourselves. Our first day we were with mom's old friend Heather and her family. They live in Wimberley, off the grid. Their place is wonderful as you can see below. Here is a picture of Aidan....isn't he cute?

Mother's day bike ride

What better way to spend mother's day than on a seven hour bike ride with this thing on my head....no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no. Outside of my two naps with my head wedged into place by the handle bar, the ride was beautiful. We followed Kelly drive up through East Falls and just before Manayunk got onto a trail that took us to forbidden drive. We cut over to Mt Airy and after a short stint in the wrong direction (whew, you should have seen mom's face!) ended up having a picnic at a park I haven't been to since I was eight weeks old. I didn't really recognize it because, you know, 8 weeks is pretty young.

Turtle Park

Mom and I get to spend time together on Fridays and whenever Dad deserts us to go "work on the boat." Last weekend, we hung out at turtle park which is filled with Little Tikes toys for people about my size. Mom tried the slide, but only half her butt fit. So after a while I caved and let her look at the flea market that surrounded the park this particular day.

Hangin' with friends

Last weekend, mom's good friend from grad school, Elizabeth, came for a visit. They then abandoned me at home with dad while they ate and drank in merriment. The next day, as dad was down at the boat poking holes in things and losing his cell phone, I played with Simona and Owen (and their mom's of course).

Rockin' Dolphin

Look what Kate got me! How cool is this? Basically this allows me to prep for the upcoming (9 years and counting down) cruise in which I truly will be cavorting with dolphins in the wild. Do you think they will let me ride their tails?

New York City

My first trip to NYC. I was there with mom and dad for a conference. And this time I am not even kidding, I really have no idea what number conference this is. As mom spent time stressing and catching up with friends, I hung out. We were staying in Times Square - which was really cool, although the massivo throngs of people that exist in that space is ridiculous....and makes a stroller damn near useless. However, dad took me to central park where I got to play in this super huge super cool playground designed for little people just about my size. It rocked. you can see I found NYC electrifying!

Little Lizy

My granddad recently sent some pictures of my mom that she has not seen in years. This is her at an age that can't be too far from my own current age. A couple of points to note. First, how obvious is it that mom was a child of the seventies? Kids everywhere are clamoring for a dress just like this one...I know I am. Second, brown eyes and hair aside....don't you think she looks like me?

Hey look at me!

Do you know why I am grinning? My parents found out moments after this shot was taken. And they now know why you never let someone my age run around without a diaper. Tee hee.
glasses, hair, or both?
Thanks Aunt Lynn!

Eating

Daddy! Get that camera out of my face...I get shy when I eat!

Snack Time

Er...I like snack time...and I like Cora's snack even more than my own. As you can see below, due to my superior size and age I generally get the upper hand in 'disagreements'. However - not shown are the advanced manuevers that Cora has pulled out of late. She had me out flat the other day. She has some pretty wicked skills...not the least of which is first deafening her victim with her teradactyl cries.

Hanging Out

You can't see her in this picture, but I am just taking a quick photo break from hanging out with my cat, Paul. I like to take her for walks, it turns out she has this cool built in leash that extends behind her and is just the right height for me to hang on to.

Dylan is 1!!!

And I had my first piece of chocolate cake! I loved it. Okay - to fill you in. I am still a bit on the miniature side. I would tell you how much I weigh, but it makes mom pissy to see it in print so you will have to guess (hint: average weight of 6 month old). This does mean that I get cream added to absolutely everything I eat - how cool is that? I am walking all over the place - I mean I can really cruise. Crawling is sooo last week, and last year for that matter. I am talking and can tell that mom and dad are so close to getting what I am saying. The cats have it. My hair is growing (I keep hearing the word 'mullet' in reference to it - is that a fish?) and no way am I letting mom cut it. This is going to be a big year for me: I plan to........drum roll please......learn to sleep through the night (mom - I promise). I'll keep you all posted!

Dylan's Birthday Party!

Mom: Look at this! We managed to get all kids facing the same direction at the same time. Words just cannot describe.

Dylan: Anyway - fun was had by all of us on my big day. We had pizza and some cake and some cold beverages. I had fun getting help from my cousin Nico opening all of my presents. Despite the call of no presents I got some beautiful and very thoughtful goodies. I will say that I despise wearing hats; I don't care if they say happy birthday on them!
